Disney has announced that the Play Disney Parks app will officially be discontinued beginning Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
The app has served as an interactive companion for guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, offering games, trivia, themed activities, and immersive experiences designed to enhance a day in the parks.
What Was the Play Disney Parks App?
Launched to make time spent waiting in attraction queues more entertaining, the Play Disney Parks app transformed smartphones into interactive tools that brought Disney Parks to life in new ways.
Guests could use the app to:
- Play interactive games while waiting in attraction queues
- Test their Disney knowledge with themed trivia
- Complete park-specific activities with family and friends
- Discover hidden experiences throughout the parks
- Interact with select attractions and lands in unique ways
Rather than simply passing the time, the app encouraged guests to explore their surroundings. It allowed Guests to engage with Disney storytelling in ways that extended beyond the attractions themselves.
Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters Will Continue
Although the Play Disney Parks app is being retired, Disney has confirmed that Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters will remain available.
Guests with a MagicBand+ can continue tracking down virtual bounties throughout Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

For many Disney fans, the Play Disney Parks app became a fun way to make attraction queues and downtime more engaging.
