Magic Kingdom Christmas Holiday Guide 2024
The Walt Disney World Resort is truly an incredible location to celebrate the Christmas Holiday season and truthfully, the Magic Kingdom is the one that everyone thinks of when they think of celebrating the most! It’s the one that’s certainly the most merry and magical in many Guests’ eyes. And how could it not be? It’s truly a special place to be during the holiday season!
Here’s what Guests can expect to experience this year during the 2024 Magic Kingdom Christmas holiday season.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a special separately ticketed event held at Magic Kingdom. The evening is only held on select dates and includes fireworks, a parade, special stage shows, holiday cookies and cocoa, and more. Most of the activities that take place during the party are broken out below, however following the last party, a number of these experiences are available to Guests during the remainder of the holiday season.
This party is VERY popular and sells out early! So, if you want to buy tickets, make sure you buy them sooner than later because once the tickets are sold out for a party night, there’s no chance that extra tickets will be added for the evening later.
A Frozen Holiday Surprise
Guests can join Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff, and the Snowgies in front of Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom for “Frozen Holiday Surprise.”
During the show, Olaf and more than 100 of his Snowgies decorate the castle with festive touches. Appearing live on stage will be Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff. Each will bring something special to the gathering. Festivities culminate as Elsa adds sparkling finishing touches, transforming Cinderella Castle into a shimmering crystallized palace. This special look will remain throughout the evening.
The show will take place each night at 6:15 PM (and again at 8:15 PM during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party).
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade
This parade takes place during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in the Magic Kingdom, exclusively for the enjoyment of party-goers. However, once the parties end for the season, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade takes place for the general public, usually twice a day.
This parade is a fan favorite and while it’s not exactly the one you see on TV each year, it’s pretty close. Guests enjoy the Toy Soldiers, the reindeer, the characters in costume, and of course, Santa at the end!
Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show
This fireworks show celebrates the magic of Christmas using beloved holiday songs like “Joy to the World,” “Up on the House Top, ” “Deck the Halls,” and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.” Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show features projection mapping and an incredible finale. Do keep in mind that for the majority of the holiday season, this fireworks show is only shown during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom. Once Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party ends for the season, it is shown for all Guests through the end of the year.
The show is simply full of holiday cheer.
Magic Kingdom Holiday Projection Show
Want to see a unique holiday show? Cinderella Castle lights up in unique projection shows occasionally throughout the night. Each show is short….no longer than 5 minutes and there are 4 different options to see.
It’s really cool to see how they can make the castle look like so many different things, from candy canes to presents. The projection technology is insanely awesome.
Jingle Cruise
Make sure to make a stop at the Jingle Cruise. This holiday-themed attraction returns beginning November 2, 2024. For those who are unaware, the Jingle Cruise sees the skippers who are homesick during the holidays. Therefore, they have decorated the queue in celebration. In addition, they were planning to have some decorations shipped, but let’s just say they didn’t quite land in the correct destination and well, some of the animals may have gotten a hold of things. Also, the boats each are given a unique holiday name, and the Skippers share a number of great seasonal holiday jokes throughout the attraction.
This is a fun, can’t miss attraction and I’m glad to see they bring the overlay back each year.
Santa Meet-and-Greet
Want to meet Santa? There’s usually a meet-and-greet with Santa that occurs daily at Candy Cane Garden next to City Hall. He’s usually found between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.! You’ll want to double check location and times in the My Disney Experience app though to make sure.
