Follow up: 5/13/25: The attraction is reopening today following it lengthy general and ride system maintenance work. It reopens with Miguel and Dante, from the Pixar film “Coco” in the Mexico section of the attraction. This isn’t the only change for the classic attraction. Later this year, a third verse of the iconic song that was written by Richard Sherman before he passed will also be added.

“it’s a small world” at Disneyland will close on September 16, 2024. This is so that the attraction can be transitioned to it’s holiday season overlay, “it’s a small world” Holiday, which is set to open on November 15.

Holiday theming will be installed during the 2-month closure. There will also be work done on lighting, as well as other general ride maintenance.

Following the holiday season, “it’s a small world” Holiday will close on January 21. It will be closed for several more weeks while additional general and ride system maintenance is completed.

While no official date has been shared, “it’s a small world” is expected to reopen in spring 2025.
