Disney Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line is rolling out several updated onboard policies across its fleet beginning in June 2026. The changes affect:

  • Alcohol brought onboard
  • Selfie sticks and tripods
  • Stateroom door decorations

While some of the updates may make guests happy, others could definitely impact how cruisers prepare for their voyage.

Disney Cruise Line Alcohol Policy Changes

One of the biggest updates involves Disney Cruise Line’s alcohol policy.

Guests 21 and older will continue to be allowed to bring limited alcohol onboard at embarkation, including:

  • One unopened bottle of wine or champagne (up to 750 ml)
    OR
  • Six beers (up to 12 oz each)

All alcohol must be packed only in carry-on luggage.

Effective June 3, three policy updates will roll out across the Disney Cruise Line fleet. These policies include updates to the alcohol policy, selfie sticks & tripods and stateroom decorations.

Corkage Fee Reduced

In a surprising move, Disney Cruise Line is actually LOWERING its dining room corkage fee.

The fee is now $20 per bottle. Previously, the fee was $29 per bottle.

That’s a welcome change for guests who enjoy bringing wine onboard for dinner.

New Policy for Alcohol Purchased at Ports

Disney Cruise Line is also changing how alcohol purchased during port visits is handled.

Moving forward, wine and beer purchased at ports of call will now be held until the end of the voyage. Disney says this aligns more closely with policies used throughout the cruise industry.

So while guests can still purchase alcohol during port stops, they won’t immediately be able to bring those beverages back to their staterooms during the sailing.

The new alcohol policies will roll out gradually across the fleet:

  • June 3 — Disney Fantasy
  • June 4 — Disney Adventure & Disney Magic
  • June 5 — Disney Wish
  • June 6 — Disney Treasure & Disney Destiny
  • June 8 — Disney Dream & Disney Wonder

Selfie Stick & Tripod Policy Updates

Disney Cruise Line is also adjusting its rules regarding:

  • Selfie sticks
  • Handheld extension poles
  • Tripods

These items will now be permitted onboard IF:

  • They remain folded
  • They are under 18 inches long

Longer equipment must:

  • Be stored inside guest staterooms
  • Only be used while ashore

Stateroom Decoration Rules Tightened

Disney Cruise Line is also introducing new limitations for stateroom decorations.

Decorating doors has become a major tradition among Disney cruisers, with many guests creating elaborate magnets and themed displays. However, Disney says decorations will now only be allowed directly on stateroom doors.

Decorations will NO LONGER be permitted on:

  • Hallway walls
  • Ceilings

This likely comes after some displays became overly large or obstructive in public areas.

Final Thoughts

Disney Cruise Line continues evolving its policies as the fleet expands with newer ships and growing guest demand.

Guests will likely welcome the reduced corkage fee.

However, the updated port alcohol restrictions and decoration limitations, may take longtime cruisers some time to adjust to.

Either way, guests will definitely want to familiarize themselves with the updated rules before boarding.
