Universal Mega Movie Parade to Debut This Summer

A brand new daytime parade is coming to Universal Orlando Resort this summer!
Beginning July 3, some of the most beloved stories from Universal’s films will leap off the screen and land on the streets of Universal Studios Florida. The Universal Mega Movie Parade will be a spectacular celebration of iconic movies. Universal Mega Movie Parade will feature E.T., Back to the Future, Jaws, Ghostbusters, Jurassic World, Illumination’s Minions and Sing and DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls and Kung Fu Panda.
About the Universal Mega Movie Parade
The coolest part of this parade is that it will be Universal Orlando’s biggest daytime parade to date. There will be 13 brand new floats. There will also be nearly 100 performers that will include dancers, skaters, stilt walkers, poi performers and more. Plus the Universal Mega Movie Parade will include special effects that will result in a jaw-dropping experience that will allow guests to be able to relive classic film moments in a whole new way.
This parade will feature a 16-foot Stay Puft Marshmallow Man atop the Ghostbusters float, the colorful Caterbus and giant rainbows on the vibrant Trolls float, a live marching drum line that will perform the iconic movie score of Jaws alongside a float themed to the film, and – for the epic finale – a Gyrosphere, Raptors and the fierce Tyrannosaurus rex aboard the Jurassic World float. And that’s just the start! Fans should also pay close attention to the parade to see if they can spot additional details that nod to iconic elements from the films.
Oh and for those of you who are fans of the Universal Tribute Store, this year’s option will complement the new parade experience! It will feature themed rooms, merchandise and photo ops inspired by some of the films that will be seen in the Universal Mega Movie Parade. More details about the Summer Tribute Store will be revealed soon.
Also announced to be opening this summer will be DreamWorks Land, which also opens on June 14. And there’s also the CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular Nighttime Show which will debut on June 14 too. Last to debut on June 14 will be the Hogwarts Always Castle Projection Show.
Final Thoughts
I’m super excited about this parade. It sounds like it will be pretty darn epic! (Wait….that’s the other park that’s coming next year.) It will include fantastic nods to lots of great Universal stories, many of which aren’t featured in the parks anymore in an attraction form, but can be featured in a fun and innovative way courtesy of the Universal Mega Movie Parade.
