The Little Mermaid - A Musical Adventure Opening in Summer 2025

Originally scheduled to open this fall at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the new stage show, The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure will now be opening in the summer of 2025.

Disney shared on their blog:

As we continue to look forward to “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure,” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios we are taking the next steps and filing permits for an all-new marquee. Work on the exterior of the building will begin soon, in preparation for the premiere of this fully reimagined show in summer 2025. We look forward to sharing more details on this exciting new experience soon.

It’s disappointing to hear, but it’s certainly understandable that this show has been pushed back.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid Will Be Replaced by The Little Mermaid - A Musical Adventure

This Walt Disney World show will be a completely brand new show. It will take place in the theater where Voyage of the Little Mermaid was performed. This new show will include all-new physical sets, puppets, live performers, and stunning visuals.

Also debuting in the summer of 2025 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be a new Villains stage show, which is replacing Lightning McQueen Racing Academy. It’s likely that both shows will debut around the same time.
