Disney Cruise Line is making it easier for more guests to enjoy the magic of a vacation at sea, introducing new accessibility features across its fleet and private island destinations.

The latest enhancements include haptic vests that allow guests to feel the music at silent disco parties and braille and tactile guidebooks designed to help guests with visual disabilities navigate ships and island destinations more independently.

Both additions are now available, giving guests new ways to participate in onboard entertainment and explore their surroundings.

Haptic Vests Bring a New Experience to Disney Cruise Line Silent Discos

Silent disco parties are a super popular part of the Disney Cruise Line entertainment experience. Instead of music playing throughout the room, guests wear headphones and dance along to their chosen music. It looks ridiculous if you aren’t listening to the music, but so much fun when you can actually hear it in the headphones.

But what if you could feel the music rather than just hear it?

Disney Cruise Line has introduced haptic vests for guests who are deaf or hard of hearing, allowing them to experience the beat and rhythm of the music through touch.

These wearable devices transform music and sound effects into physical sensations, creating a more immersive way to enjoy the party.

Rather than relying entirely on sound, guests can feel the energy of the music through vibrations produced by the vest.

Haptic vests are now available at silent disco parties aboard all Disney Cruise Line ships.

New Braille and Tactile Guidebooks Help Guests Navigate Disney Ships

Disney Cruise Line is also introducing new resources for guests with visual disabilities.

Braille and tactile guidebooks are now available upon request, providing information designed to help guests navigate their surroundings with greater confidence and independence.

The guidebooks include tactile maps and venue information, allowing guests to explore ship layouts and better understand where different spaces are located. Unlike traditional printed maps, tactile maps use raised elements that can be explored through touch.

Guests can request the guidebooks at locations including Guest Services.

Accessibility Guidebooks Are Also Available at Disney’s Island Destinations

The new resources aren’t limited to the ships.

Disney Cruise Line has also made braille and tactile guidebooks available upon request at its two Bahamian island destinations:

• Disney Castaway Cay
• Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point

How to Request Accessibility Accommodations on Disney Cruise Line

If you’re planning a Disney cruise and have questions about accessibility services, Disney encourages guests to contact its Special Services team before sailing.

Guests can submit a Special Services request form ahead of their vacation or contact Disney Cruise Line’s Special Services directly to discuss available accommodations.

For the new braille and tactile guidebooks, Disney confirms that they are available upon request, including through Guest Services and at the island destinations.
