Big changes are coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at both Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort!
Beginning May 22, 2026, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will receive a major update, and for the first time ever, Guests will be in control of their own destination.
And yes… Grogu is getting involved.
A New Name for a New Mission
Ahead of the update, Walt Disney World has announced the attraction will officially be renamed:
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – A New Mission
Whew! That’s quite the title!
At this time, Disney has not confirmed whether Disneyland Resort will also adopt the updated name.
Choose Your Destination
One of the most exciting changes is that the crew will now decide where the Millennium Falcon travels.
Guests will be able to visit:
- Bespin
- Endor
- Coruscant
This marks the first time riders will have control over their galactic destination, adding a whole new layer of excitement and re-ridability to the experience.
Engineers Can Communicate with Grogu
Another major addition? The engineer position is getting a serious upgrade.
Engineers will now be able to communicate with Grogu during the mission, making the role more interactive than ever before.
This new update debuts the same day as The Mandalorian and Grogu project, though Disney has confirmed the attraction’s storyline will follow a different narrative path.

And ahead of this new attraction update, Walt Disney World has just shared that the attraction will receive a new name: Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – A New Mission. Whew! That’s a lot!
No word on if the name will also change for the Disneyland Resort.
The New Storyline for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
In this updated adventure, Hondo Ohnaka has discovered a lucrative opportunity.
A deal is reportedly going down on Tatooine between ex-Imperial officers and a group of pirates. There’s a generous bounty on their capture and naturally, Hondo needs a crew.
Guests will borrow the Millennium Falcon and team up with The Mandalorian and Grogu to track down their targets and explore the galaxy.
