Celebrate the 4th of July at Walt Disney World with a Bang!
It’s almost time to let freedom ring! The Walt Disney World Resort celebrates the 4th of July in a massive way! I’ve actually been there on the 4th and it’s a TON of fun! Is it crowded, of course, but if you go in with the correct expectations, you can have a blast! (Haha…fireworks pun!)
Here are some of the ways you can celebrate the Fourth of July at Walt Disney World this year!
Magic Kingdom
“Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” will light up the nighttime sky over Magic Kingdom. The show will take place two nights, so you’ll have double the chance to celebrate! This special fireworks show will take place July 3 and July 4 at 9:20 p.m.
In addition, dance the night away with DJs mixing tunes at a dance party in front of Cinderella Castle and throughout the park.
EPCOT
Guests visiting EPCOT will also be able to experience a fantastic nighttime spectacular in celebration of the Fourth of July. First, Luminous will take place, like normal. Then, following Luminous will be the incredible patriotic fireworks tag called, “The Heartbeat of Freedom.” Performances will take place July 4 at 9 p.m. Trust me when I say this one rumbles the ground!
New for this year, and something you don’t want to miss is the exhibit from the George W. Bush Institute that debuted June 9 called Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors. Located in the American Adventure Pavilion, this art exhibit includes more than 60 vibrant oil paintings by President Bush of service members and veterans who have served with honor since 9/11 and whom the President has come to know personally since leaving office.
When visiting the American Adventure Pavilion, you also won’t want to miss the a cappella group, Voices of Liberty. These performers sing patriotic tunes throughout the day in the American Adventure Rotunda.
Oh, and specifically for the 4th of July, you’ll also want to grab a photo with Mickey and friends dressed in their patriotic best! You’ll find them throughout the day at the American Adventure Pavilion.
A few years back, Disney added the Beacon of Light to Spaceship Earth and it’s been just a ridiculously cool sight to see. Spaceship Earth will be illuminated in bright red, white and blue colors at night to celebrate the holiday.
4th of July Celebrations at Disney Resort Hotels
Select Disney Resort hotels get into the red, white and blue spirit with classic summertime fun. Events will include surprise character appearances, campfires, sing-alongs and marshmallow roasts to Movies Under the Stars and children’s activities. Or just enjoy an afternoon poolside.
Guests staying in Disney Resort hotels on the shores of Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake can end their day viewing the nightly Electrical Water Pageant. This cavalcade of lights includes a patriotic grand finale featuring the American flag and stars all in sparkling lights.
