The excitement is building for the official debut of Disney’s newest private island, Disney Lookout Cay at Lookout Point. Yesterday, we got a look at the menus that will be available on the island and today, we’re learning more about the entertainment offerings for the Disney Cruise Line stop.
RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration at Disney Lookout Cay
With the call of a conch shell, a local Junkanoo Group will sweep Guests up in RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration at Disney Lookout Cay. This offering will introduce Guests to the signature festival of The Bahamas filled with colorful parades of dancing and music. You’ll have the chance to experience an authentic Junkanoo Rush Out as performers parade to the Goombay Cultural Center, where Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Donald and Daisy Duck will dance along. Guests are encouraged to join in on the celebration.
The Goombay Cultural Center will embody the essence of “Junkanoo.” “Junkanoo” is a Bahamian festival filled with joyous music and vibrant parades. Goombay is one of the traditional music styles of The Bahamas, involving singing, dancing and drumming. The brilliantly colored cultural pavilion and its Junkanoo-inspired arch will invite guests to embrace the traditions of The Bahamas, along with the sights, sounds and spirit of the country’s signature festival.
Disney Fun in the Sun Beach Bash
Looking for family fun? Visit the Play-Play Pavilion during the Disney Fun in the Sun Beach Bash. This will be a beach party full of games you can play with Disney friends! Show how low you can go in Goofy’s Good Day Limbo, test your skills at Pluto’s Pineapple Ring Toss, and cool off with a splash at Chip-n-Dale’s Water Brigade, all to the sound of all-new Bahamian renditions of Disney tunes.
There will also be plenty of family entertainment in store at Triton’s Trumpet Stage. And fun fact: The gazebo’s name is inspired by one of the stunning natural wonders found among the Bahamian beaches – a large, spiraled seashell commonly called “Triton’s Trumpet.”
Final Thoughts
The more I learn about Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, the more excited I get. This new tropical oasis sounds incredible and it sounds like another perfect day on an incredible island.
