Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Opening Summer 2026 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Updated 3/5/26
Are you ready to experience Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets? The wait won’t be much longer! Disney has officially confirmed that the reimagined attraction will debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in summer 2026 at Walt Disney World.
The high-speed indoor coaster will keep the thrilling launch and inversions guests love, but now it will feature the rocking tunes of the Electric Mayhem and the chaotic charm of The Muppets.
What To Expect with Rock n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets When it Opens in 2026

The new storyline centers around The Electric Mayhem headlining their biggest Hollywood concert ever. There’s just one small problem…
Where is the band?
Guests begin their adventure at G-Force Records, where they’re treated to a VIP tour of the legendary recording studio. But things look a little different these days, because the label is now under new management… The Muppets!
Scooter’s uncle, real estate tycoon and owner of the Muppet Theatre J.P. Grosse (he really puts the “G” in G-Force), has helped secure their new digs.
But as usual, things don’t go exactly according to plan.
Updates to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Courtyard

For longtime fans wondering about the massive guitar outside the attraction, don’t worry. It’s staying.
However, it will receive:
- A vibrant, psychedelic new paint design
- A refreshed base featuring a golden key on the piano, nodding to the band’s far-out leader
The courtyard will maintain its music-inspired vibe but with a colorful Muppet style.
Ride Experience with a Muppet Twist

With VIP passes, you’ll be welcomed inside the recording studio, where you’ll find the Electric Mayhem are cranking out some seriously rocking tunes. Along with the finest audio engineers (all penguins, of course) we’ll see Scooter frantically trying to get them to stop jamming and make it to the concert for their increasingly restless fans.
One of the most exciting updates?
Disney has confirmed that Scooter and the two penguins featured in the concept art will be Audio-Animatronics.
With the help from friends at Muppet Labs and a very fast limousine, we’ll take a twisting, turning, and screamingly fun road trip across Hollywood to reach the concert in time. The iconic scenery and landmarks of Tinseltown will feature a Muppet twist.
And throughout the journey, you’ll hear the Electric Mayhem playing some of the most iconic, rockin’ hits.
Lightning Lane Tiering for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets
Guests planning to use Lightning Lane Multi Pass at Disney’s Hollywood Studios should be aware that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will be a Tier 1 attraction when it opens in summer 2026.
If you’re unfamiliar with the tier system, Lightning Lane Multi Pass at Hollywood Studios divides attractions into two categories:
Tier 1 includes the park’s most popular rides. Guests can select only one Tier 1 attraction when making their initial Lightning Lane selections.
Tier 2 includes many of the park’s other experiences, and guests can choose two options from this group.
Because Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has historically been one of the park’s most in-demand attractions, and due to the update, it’s no surprise that the Muppet version will hold Tier 1 status once it debuts.
This means guests will need to plan carefully when making their selections, as choosing Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets may mean skipping another major attraction during their initial booking window.
If the new version proves as popular as expected, Lightning Lane reservations for the attraction could fill up quickly each day, especially during the first few months after opening.
When Is Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith Closing?

The original version of the attraction has officially closed. The last day to ride was March 1, 2026.
After nearly 27 years of high-speed thrills powered by Aerosmith, the attraction has now closed for this transformation.
The Rock n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Announcement
Disney revealed the retheme in a playful social media post featuring Kermit the Frog, confirming that The Muppets are officially taking over the iconic coaster.
