Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno: A Disney Dining Review

Along the boardwalk at the aptly named, Disney’s BoardWalk Resort at the Walt Disney World Resort is a lovely Italian table service restaurant. Called Trattoria al Forno, this restaurant allows Guests to grab a delicious bite, just steps away from two of Walt Disney World’s theme parks – EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
It’s a great spot to visit when you just want to get a break from the parks during the day or leading up to the evening. But, it’s also a great spot to head to if you’re looking for a delicious breakfast!
As I got up this particular morning, I was perusing the My Disney Experience app to try to figure out what I wanted to eat for breakfast. I had a few hours before my drive back home and wanted a good hearty option to keep me satisfied before my long trip. I saw the reservation for Trattoria al Forno and thought perfect! It had been a while since I’d dined here, so I thought let’s give it a try! Let’s just say, I was NOT disappointed.
The Atmosphere at Trattoria al Forno

Trattoria al Forno is a traditional Italian restaurant with rustic feel. It offers up delicious Italian breakfast dishes, as well, of course, of classic Italian options for lunch and dinner.
I was checking into the restaurant and it was a lovely day that morning, so I noticed that you could request to sit outside! Since I had some time, I thought, yes! Let’s sit outside! I actually had no idea that they even offered this type of seating.
Imagine my surprise when I walked up the restaurant and noticed the few tables sitting in front for Guests to dine at! How had I never noticed this before! I was so glad I picked to dine outside.
I was walked over to a lovely table that sat along the boardwalk. It was so nice, especially as a solo diner to be able to watch the world pass by as they walked to and from the parks and the resort that morning.
Now, one thing to note. Back prior to COVID, Trattoria al Forno used to offer a character dining experience for breakfast. It featured Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder, as well as Ariel and Eric. While the restaurant still says on the main website that character dining is currently not available, I’d actually be surprised to see a character breakfast return here. I don’t think the space needs it. They may disagree at some point, but personally, I like this space without the characters.
The Menu at Trattoria al Forno

The dishes at Trattoria al Forno for breakfast are traditional in nature, but some certainly have a bit of an Italian twist.
There’s things like Oak Grilled Steak and Eggs (Yum!), Avocado Toast, and Two Eggs Your Way. But then there’s also the Sunrise Breakfast Pizza, the Caprese Omelet, and the Al Forno Eggs.
But for my breakfast, I got the Tiramisu Bread Pudding. It features sourdough bread pudding, espresso liqueur, mascarpone cream, and chocolate shavings. It was served with a side of bacon.
Let me say, I actually think I have a new favorite breakfast…..ok….let’s be honest, this isn’t much in the way of breakfast. This is a breakfast dessert, but I regret nothing.
This tiramisu bread pudding was flavorful, especially if you like tiramisu. It was incredible sweet, rich, and decadent. It was gooey in all the right ways. Honestly, it was just about perfect for a sweet breakfast person like myself. I legit devoured the entire dish. 10/10 – no notes!
Final Thoughts
I can’t believe it took me so long to visit Trattoria al Forno for breakfast, but I’ll be back! The menu has some other great savory breakfast options too that look incredible and I’ve got to try one of those next time. But who are we kidding….this tiramisu bread pudding is gonna be hard to skip.
