This is huge news for Star Wars fans. Disneyland Resort has officially announced a major update coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and it’s one fans have been asking for since the land first opened.

Beginning April 29, 2026, Guests visiting Black Spire Outpost will be able to experience multiple eras of the Star Wars saga, including the Original Trilogy, in ways that have never been done before. This update will introduce iconic characters, classic music, refreshed story elements, and updated locations throughout the land, all while preserving the immersive storytelling Galaxy’s Edge is known for.

Let’s break down everything coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland.

Where You’ll Find Iconic Star Wars Characters

With the updated timeline, Guests can expect to encounter some of the most legendary heroes and villains in Star Wars history throughout the land.

  • Darth Vader will patrol Black Spire Outpost alongside Imperial Stormtroopers, actively searching for key Rebel leaders.
  • Luke Skywalker will roam the outpost
  • Princess Leia Organa may be spotted near the Millennium Falcon
  • Han Solo will linger around his iconic ship
  • Chewbacca will also be seen throughout the land

These classic characters will join familiar Galaxy’s Edge favorites such as:

  • Ahsoka Tano
  • The Mandalorian and Grogu, found near the marketplace
  • R2-D2, rolling freely throughout the land

Meanwhile, the forested outskirts of Black Spire Outpost will continue to represent the Age of the Resistance, where Guests may still encounter Rey near the Resistance camp.

Classic Star Wars Music Finally Comes to Galaxy’s Edge

In addition to these changes, you’ll also hear a change. That’s because the scores from legendary composer John Williams will finally play in this land.

Enhancements to Local Establishments and Shops

Several locations throughout Galaxy’s Edge will also receive story-driven updates tied to the expanded timeline.

First Order Cargo will transform into Black Spire Surplus. This will be a military salvage operation offering artifacts from across the history of the galaxy, including Imperial and Rebel items from the Galactic Civil War.

As antiquities shops often do, Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities will display a different array of one-of-a-kind items from its past.

An earlier generation of the Mubo family will operate Droid Depot, where they will be prototyping the BB style of droid. You’ll still have the opportunity to purchase and create your own droid companion at this shop.

In his search for information on lightsabers and the Force, Luke Skywalker will be interested in meeting with Savi. You may continue to have the opportunity to purchase and build your own lightsaber under the guidance of Savi’s Gatherers.

A Galaxy That Finally Spans Generations

Whether you align with the Light Side or the Dark Side, these updates mark a major evolution for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland. By welcoming Original Trilogy characters, classic music, and expanded storytelling, the land will finally celebrate every generation of Star Wars fandom.

Stay tuned for more details as this exciting transformation draws closer.
