DINOSAUR Closing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on February 2, 2026

The Countdown to Extinction is on! We all knew it was happening and now we know that DINOSAUR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will close for good on February 2, 2026. Which means the last day to experience it will be February 1, 2026.
Restaurantosaurus Closing With DINOSAUR

With this change, it also means that we will lose Restaurantosaurus. This quick service restaurant will also close on February 2, 2026.
Due to this closure, Harambe Market in the Africa section of the park will offer an updated menu that was closer to what Restaurantosaurus offered. This means that Harambe Market will close at some point later this winter, but specific dates have yet to be announced.
Final Day for DinoLand Character Meet-and-Greets

For character lovers, February 1 will also be the final day to see Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and Chip ‘n’ Dale in their DinoLand costumes. This will be a loss, in my opinion, as I loved meeting these characters in the fun costumes they wore. (I loved Chip and Dale dressed as dinosaurs!)

Beginning February 2, the characters will be relocated to a new area in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, with more details expected to be announced in the coming months.
What’s Next – Tropical Americas

As a reminder, Tropical Americas will be a new 11-acre land inspired by Central and South America. Announced at D23, Tropical Americas will include:
- A ride-through attraction based on Encanto
- A thrilling Indiana Jones-themed adventure
- A new carousel inspired by animals from Disney films
- An updated quick-service dining location
