Save More on Disney Cruise Line: New 20–25% Placeholder Discounts Announced

Get ready to save on Disney Cruise Line! Beginning with December 2025 sailings, Guests who book a Placeholder cruise while onboard will now receive more discounts than ever before on select sailings. This is HUGE!
What Is Changing With Disney Cruise Line Placeholder Discounts?
Traditionally, most placeholder cruises allow Guests to save 10% on most sailings. However, moving forward, a list of qualifying 20% and 25% discounted sailings will be available!
Even better? If your sailing becomes eligible for a higher discount, it will be automatically applied to their booking. Oh and if you’ve already paid your reservation in full, you’ll get a refund! (Let me tell you….that NEVER happens with Disney Cruise Line, so when I say this is HUGE, it’s HUGE!)
New Concierge Stateroom Savings
Another major upgrade is coming for Guests staying in Concierge accommodations. Guests will soon be able to apply their placeholder reservation to save 10% on select Concierge staterooms on select sailings (Categories 02B and lower). Traditional onboard credits for Concierge bookings will be replaced with this discount.
If a guest’s reservation becomes eligible for a 10% concierge discount, it will be automatically applied to their booking. If your Concierge booking becomes eligible later, the discount will be automatically applied and refunded if needed. Again, HUGE!
What is a Placeholder Cruise With Disney Cruise Line?
New to Disney Crusing and don’t know what a Placeholder Cruise is? Well, once onboard a Disney Cruise Line ship, the chances of you wanting to sail again are pretty good. So, Disney allows you to either book a new cruise with specific dates, OR they allow you to book what’s known as a Placeholder Cruise.
A Placeholder Cruise is an onboard booking perk that lets you lock in a future sailing without choosing dates yet. So if you don’t know what dates you want to sail OR you do know what dates, but they aren’t available to be booked on Disney Cruise Line yet, you can still take advantage of saving money! You can even book a Placeholder cruise right on the Disney Cruise Line app! It’s so easy!
When you do know your dates, you just contact your travel agent (may I suggest Jocelyn with The Magic For Less Travel?) and let them know you have this Placeholder cruise and you want to have them transfer the Placeholder to this new date. (Keep in mind, you have to designate your Travel Agent PRIOR to getting off the ship when booking your initial Placeholder, otherwise you can’t use an agent to rebook. And trust me….you want to use an agent because a lot of them will give onboard ship credits that you can use….which is essentially free money!)
