The new cabins at The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort – A Disney Vacation Club Resort are now open! The cabins are a relaxing retreat where Guests are able to enjoy the comforts of home all mixed with the options of staying in the great outdoors.

“The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are nestled right in the heart of such a beloved resort and will be the perfect place for our Disney Vacation Club Members to create new vacation memories,” said Bill Diercksen, senior vice president and general manager, Disney Vacation Club. “Providing families with new ways to experience the magic of Disney is at the core of everything we do, and we cannot wait to welcome our Members and Walt Disney World Resort guests to this special property.”

This is the 17th Disney Vacation Club property to open. The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are not fully open just yet though. The cabins will continue to open at the Walt Disney World Resort in phases throughout the year. In the end there will be more than 350 new cabins available for Guests!

The Cabins feature inspiration from the peaceful surroundings, but of course, there are also touches of Disney whimsy too. The goal was to preserve the resort’s storied heritage.

Each cabin features floor to ceiling glass windows. The goal was to bring the beauty of nature indoors for Guests. Each cabin also includes nods to the resort’s early days as well some familiar faces, including Mickey Mouse, Pluto and Chip and Dale.

Each one-bedroom cabin comfortably sleeps up to six guests. It includes a main bedroom, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, living area, dining area and outdoor patio. Dog-friendly cabins are also available. (Oh my goodness! I could bring Daisy!)

Final Thoughts

While I’m not a Disney Vacation Club Member and I know there was a lot of frustration from those who stay at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort on the regular about these changes, overall, I think the upgrades look nice. This is totally the way I would want to go “camping”. It’s rustic enough, but also features some great upscale features. I would love to bring my family here for a resort only vacation or even a more laid back Walt Disney World Resort vacation where I’d still go to the parks, but they wouldn’t be the main focus.

But now, I want to know your thoughts. What do you think of the updates to The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort? You can share with me in the comments or on social! Find me on FacebookXYouTubeInstagram, Threads, and TikTok.
