This week, Disney shared some updated details about the brand new stage show that will be coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios called “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure.”

This Walt Disney World show will be a completely brand new show, but will it will take place in the theater where Voyage of the Little Mermaid was performed. (I can only assume this means bye bye lasers.) This new show will include all-new physical sets, puppets, live performers, and stunning visuals.

The show will feature some familiar effects too though. For example, the blacklight puppets will still be a part of the performances. There’s also a lot of state-of-the-art technology that will be utilized, as well, like motion capture technology.

This cutting-edge digital imagery will be used throughout the show to accent what is happening on stage, bringing to life characters like King Triton, Ursula, and even Ariel’s sisters. Yep….that means there will be at least one new number as her sisters will perform “Daughters of Triton.”

The show will blend real and digital. It will done in ways that haven’t been done before!

“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” will debut sometime this fall.
