Walt Disney World

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Christmas Holiday Guide 2024

The Walt Disney World Resort is truly an incredible location to celebrate the Christmas Holiday season. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you’re invited to get wild as you celebrate the holiday season!

Here’s what Guests can expect to experience this year during the 2024 Disney’s Animal Kingdom Christmas holiday season.

Meet Santa!

For the first time, this year, Guests will be able to meet the one and only Santa Claus at the 75th Annual Dino Institute Holiday Party on the patio at Restaurantosaurus! Guests will find him in this new location from November 12-December 24!

Merry Menagerie

When entering Discovery Island, the first thing you will see gorgeous animal-inspired luminaries lining the area rooftops. Once the day turns to night, the rooftop luminaries and bird lanterns all around Discovery Island will light up and glow. They are stunning!

In addition, during the day, Discovery Island will also feature a holiday gathering of winter animals, realized in the form of life-size, artisan-sculpted puppets in the form of reindeer, foxes, penguins polar bears, and more.

This is truly an incredible thing to experience. You would think these animals were real.

Tree of Life Awakening

In the evening, you won’t want to miss the seasonal Tree of Life Awakenings that bring the spirits of winter animals to life. This show is incredible and can’t be missed!

Character Meet and Greets

You can also meet Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, dressed in their festive finest together at Adventurers Outpost. I like that you can meet both of them together here!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Christmas Decorations

Disney’s Animal Kingdom park will be decked out for the holidays. Animal Kingdom has a large range of decorations from tacky and kitschy decor in Dino-land to all natural decor in Africa. Don’t miss these very different holiday decorations as you explore the park. My favorite has to be Dinoland, but obviously this will be the last year for the fun decor in this section of the park, as it will soon close for the new Tropical Americas section.
