Walt Disney World

Virtual Queue Ending for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Do you hear that noise? It’s me singing hallelujah! That’s because Disney has announced that two Walt Disney World attractions will finally be removing the virtual queue option! Beginning February 25, Guests can experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT through a standby queue or as a Lightning Lane experience.

This means that there will be no current Virtual Queues offered at Walt Disney World. Disney did share that Virtual Queues will continue to be used with the launch of popular attractions. It will also be used for the debut of new experiences and offerings.

Final Thoughts

Can I just share what a huge win this is for Guests? I’m so thrilled that I now will have the option to choose to stand in the standby lane, instead of being forced to wake up for that 7:00 a.m. drop of the Virtual Queue slots. This really does open up the attractions to so many more Guests. Many were “sold out” of the opportunity to ride these attractions, which often went quick each and every morning.

I will be curious to see what this does to wait times, however. For those who were able to join the Virtual Queues, you did still have to stand in line. This was usually was about an hour or so for both Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. It will be interesting to see how much that increases, if it does.
