Updates About Dinoland U.S.A. Closures

In case you are unaware, Disney is currently in the process of building a brand new land called Tropical Americas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This land’s details were announced back at the D23 Expo and it will be replacing Dinoland U.S.A.

But the changes for Dinoland U.S.A. are happening in phases. Let’s find out more:

Is DinoLand still open?

Yes! parts of the area are still currently open through 2025. However, that doesn’t mean that dirt isn’t moving in this land! The first phase that closed was that the section known as Chester and Hester’s Dino-rama which closed earlier this year. Take a look at our video tribute.

However, 2025 is truly the last year you’ll be able to actually experience Dinoland U.S.A. before it finally goes extinct.

As of right now, DINOSAUR, the Boneyard, and Restaurantosaurus will all be open through 2025. Also still open is Dino-Bites Snacks. Disney has said in the past that DINOSAUR will be closing in 2026, so one would expect the Boneyard, Restaurantosaurus, and Dino-Bites will close around the same time. More details on a final timeline for this section of the park’s closure will be shared here on the site when released.

What’s Coming with Tropical Americas?

Tropical Americas, also known as Pueblo Esperanza, will be a new 11-acre area. The land will include a hacienda, which is slated to be one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Disney World Resort. This new land will also feature two signature attractions.

A brand-new thrilling Indiana Jones experience will debut following Indy’s journey to find a mythical creature deep within the temple. It will be replacing DINOSAUR. In addition, the first-ever Encanto-themed ride-through attraction is being built. Additionally, the area will feature a large fountain in the center. Also, a local woodcarver has created a giant working carousel featuring his favorite animals from Disney stories.

Tropical Americas will open in 2027.
