The Boneyard at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Closes in September 2025

The Boneyard playground in Disney’s Animal Kingdom finally has a closing date. The last date to be able to visit the kid-friendly attraction will be September 1, 2025.

This attraction is closing to make way for the Tropical Americas section that’s being built in the park. Construction is currently ramping up on the area.

There is some good news though. Disney has confirmed that the Tropical Americas section will indeed feature a new kids play area. (And those of us with little ones rejoice!)

About The Boneyard

The Boneyard is a great prehistoric play area that’s perfect for little ones. It includes rope bridges, caves, slides, the ability to excavate fossils and more!

It’s also known that another major closure is on the horizon for Disney’s Animal Kingdom. DINOSAUR is set to close beginning sometime in 2026. Find out more details here.

Dinosaur will be rethemed into an Indiana Jones attraction. It will still feature the same layout, but will see major updates to tell this new story.  In this new venture, Indy has recently discovered a perfectly preserved Maya temple, and it’s time to explore it. He’s heard rumors about a mythical creature deep within the temple, so he’s got to see it for himself and brings us along on the adventure.

Tropical Americas is well under way with construction. In addition to the Indiana Jones attraction, it will also feature a carousel, as well as an attraction themed to the movie “Enacanto.” Find out more details here.
