Get ready! The brand new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge at the Magic Kingdom called The Beak and Barrel will open later on August 29 at the Magic Kingdom! Reservations open on August 14. They’ve also released the full menu for this new option, and we’ve got those details below! There will be lots of great bites, as well as delicious drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic!
The story for this brand new location is that it has been established by the legendary pirate rumrunner, Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn, and her talkative first mate, Rummy. (Rummy will look familiar to fans who’ve been around for a LONG while, like myself. But his name was Peg Leg Pete….)
The lounge will feature two distinct areas for Guests to enjoy – one is the Mess and the other is the Captain’s Quarters.
The main area at The Beak and Barrel was once the mess hall for Spanish soldiers, now known as “The Mess.” Guests will find long tables, while an imposing anchor covered in candles and dripping wax hangs high above.
A large bar anchors one side of the room. This bar has been cobbled together from salvaged portions of a cursed shipwreck. At its center, the skull-shaped stern holds an impressive collection of grogs and brew. Guests may also spot the Enchanted Rum Bottle. This was gifted to Merry by Tia Dalma.
Inside the Captains’ Quarters, you’ll find what was once the living quarters of the Spanish Comandante. However, this space appears to have been plundered a few times.
Above the fireplace Guests will find five miniature ships in glass bottles. Rumored to represent pirates from every corner of the world, these pirates have banded together to defeat tyranny. You’ll want to keep an eye out though. These bottles may just come alive engaging in a fearsome battle!
The Treasure Trove, a non-alcoholic beverage that’s a mix of ube, lemon, and coconut. You can also snack on some sweet treats, like a vanilla cake plank, chocolate cannonball, and golden caramel popcorn.
The other non-alcoholic option is the Cursed Treasure. This features a delicious combination of coconut milk and cookie crumbs topped with vanilla foam and pirate’s gold cookie. It’s got a cookies and cream flavor, in drink form.
The Kraken’s Catch is a cold salad that features octopus tentacles marinated in lemon and lime juice and paired with olives, bell peppers, avocado, and Piquillo pepper-almond foam.
The Salty Seas mARRRgarita features Southeast Asian flavors, such as ube which gives it the striking purple color, as well as Lalo Blanco Tequilla, Cointreau Liqueur, and lime.
The Siren’s Whisper combines Pot & Column Still White Rum with citrus and spice. This sip was inspired by the Fountain of Youth, also known as the Aqua de Vida from the films. It’s topped with a special siren tear.
The Cook’s Corn Griddle Cakes are a warm corn cake is stuffed with melted cheese, lime sour cream, and chili peppers topped with cotija cheese. There are two options – one with roasted corn and poblano peppers and one with chipotle-braised chicken.
With Barrels Ablaze, if you’ve got a taste for bourbon, this is it. It features Jack Daniel’s Bonded Bourbon, a hint of honey, and a dash of spice.
The Hibiscus Rum Punch Royale is a rum-based drink topped with prosecco combined with hibiscus, demerara and citrus.
Island Provisions takes flair and flavors from the Caribbean and Central America regions. Grab your crew for this shareable bite with plantain chips, blue corn tortillas, and toasted flatbread served with various savory dips.
The Port of Call features London Dry Gin, Ruby Port, lemon juice, and spiced cranberry.
The Lit Fuse features Los Siete Misterios Doba -Yej Meszal, and flavors of banana, coconut, and smoked chili bitters.
The Plunderer’s Punch has Kraken Black Spiced Rum, blackberry, vanilla, and a hint of citrus. For some added treasure to take home with you, this sip comes in a souvenir pirate skull mug.
The Beak and Barrel will be home to exclusive draft beer, including Victory Brewing Co. Pirate’s Paradise Blonde Ale and Wicked Weed Brewing Berried Treasure Session Sour, as well as bottled and canned lager and IPAs, such as Modelo Especial Lager, Red Stripe Lager, and Bell’s Two Hearted IPA.
The wine connoisseurs will be able to enjoy wine by the glass options from various places across the seven seas available. These include the Spice Route ‘Chakalaka’ Red Blend, Quinta de Santiago Vinho Verde, and the Viarae Prosecco.
When dining here, Guests will have a 45 minute time limit per party.
