Disney’s Animal Kingdom has announced that Kali River Rapids will close for refurbishment starting October 6, 2025. The water ride typically undergoes annual maintenance in the winter, but this year’s schedule was moved up to accommodate other park changes, including the closure of DINOSAUR. While no official reopening date is confirmed, the attraction is expected to return in December 2025.
Kali River Rapids is a water attraction where Guests have the potential to get soaked as they traverse the rapids, as well as learn a thing or two about conservation.
Each year, this attraction closes in the winter for a refurbishment due to maintenance. This is due to the fact that it is a water attraction that needs a little extra TLC to keep it in optimal shape.
