First Look at New Magic Kingdom DVC Lounge – McKim’s Mile House

A brand new Disney Vacation Club Lounge has officially opened at the Magic Kingdom. This space, which was originally supposed to open this summer, is called McKim’s Mile House and it’s a great spot for DVC members to be able to kick back and relax.

McKim’s Mile House can be found in Frontierland. The space took over for the former Frontierland Shootin Arcade. The lounge’s namesake is Sam McKim, a Disney Legend and concept artist for the original Frontierland in Disneyland Park.

Exploring the Space

As you can see from the photos, the space includes wood floors, a hand-carved stone fireplace, and a great old-timey vibe. There’s even artwork from Sam McKim himself.

As visitors gaze around, they may notice stairs that appear to lead up to boarding rooms said to be occupied by some famous folks from around Frontierland. One room, is designated as the room of the owner and founder of Big Thunder Mining Company, Barnabas T. Bullion. Just down the hall is the room occupied by M. Davis, a special recognition to Disney Legend Marc Davis. 

Guests will be able to relax on comfy sofas and chairs.  There will also be complimentary soft drinks and complimentary Wi-Fi and phone charging spaces.

McKim’s Mile House – A Member Lounge is open daily from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. EST. In order to be able to visit McKim’s Mile House, Guests must check-in with a valid Membership Card and photo ID. The name on the Membership Card must match the name on the photo ID. A Member can bring in up to 4 Guests per Membership Card, or the number of Guests on their Resort reservation, booked within their Membership.
