When Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopens in 2026 at the Magic Kingdom, the attraction will debut with brand new magic!

What’s New: Caverns, Crystals & Mysterious Forces

The attraction will reopen with the same action and adventure we know and love, but Guests will notice changes immediately when the train heads underground. They’ll see spectacular natural caverns full of phosphorescent pools, as well as shimmering and illuminating iridescent stalagmites and stalactites.

However, while, beautiful, there’s something menacing deep within the mountains. Uh oh! What could that mean?

When to Ride Big Thunder Mountain Again

No reopening date has been announced beyond the fact that it will reopen sometime in 2026.
