Disney Shares Concept Inspiration of Avatar-Inspired Adventures for Disneyland

Today, during the Walt Disney Company Shareholder meeting, Bob Iger talked about the future of many of the Walt Disney Company theme park destinations. One of the topics he briefly touched on was about the DisneylandForward initiative. This would allow for Disneyland Resort to grow and expand to include new lands, new resorts, and more. Matter of fact DisneylandForward takes a big step later this month. That’s because it goes in front of the Anaheim City Council for final approval.

One of the aspects that has been talked about as being a part of the the DisneylandForward project is the addition of Avatar-inspired adventures coming to the resort. Disney has been very careful not to say this would be another Pandora – World of Avatar land like there is at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. They simply keep stating that it’s another adventure that we’ll be taking with the characters from the film.

According to Bob Iger, “We’re thrilled about many potential new stories that our guests could experience at Walt’s original theme park, including the opportunity to embark on all-new Avatar adventures with a visit to the world of Pandora. Our Imagineers have been hard at work dreaming up what guests might expect.”

We also got a glimpse of concept art that is set to serve as creative inspiration for what this new adventure could entail.

Final Thoughts

I’ll definitely be curious as to what Disney has dreamed up in relation to Avatar. I’m still not the biggest Avatar fan, but do enjoy visiting the land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It’s simply gorgeous and I can appreciate the story its telling, despite the fact that I don’t care about the films at all.
